(Senior) Plant Controller (m/f/d) – Remscheid/Solingen/Wuppertal Area

For our client, a reputable tool manufacturer and part of an international Fortune 500 corporation, we are seeking a (Senior) Plant Controller (m/f/d) in the greater Remscheid/Solingen/Wuppertal area in Germany.

In this role, you will collaborate with Plant Management and the local Finance Leader to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. You will ensure the accurate reporting, analysis, and application of financial data to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will provide critical financial insights and guidance that directly influence business success. Working across departments, you will foster financial understanding and contribute to operational improvements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly and annual financial planning and analysis, including budget reviews, monthly updates, and assessments of excess and obsolete inventory, utilization, and manufacturing costs
  • Reconcile monthly financial results against budgets, identifying and explaining significant variances in working capital and profitability, with a focus on analyzing and resolving manufacturing variances
  • Prepare detailed monthly performance reports, providing actionable recommendations to address variances and enhance financial outcomes
  • Work closely with plant management to control costs, delivering analyses and creating reporting tools to improve financial transparency
  • Track and document productivity and cost reduction projects, ensuring alignment with objectives and timely progress
  • Conduct thorough analyses to support decision-making and present recommendations to management
  • Create and manage performance dashboards, regularly monitoring and updating key supply chain metrics
  • Assist with accounting and controlling tasks during monthly close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Participate in periodic operational reviews, collaborating with Operations, Finance, and Management teams to identify areas for improvement
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects, focusing on process enhancements and driving continuous improvement initiatives

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Controlling, or other relevant education
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to support analysis needs
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior leadership
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Ability to integrate strategic planning with decisive action
  • Reliable and consistent in following through on commitments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience working within a matrix organizational structure
  • Proactive mindset, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage key tasks
